HOW TO PUT ROBLOX WORLDS INTO MINECRAFT

HELLO. ABOUT A YEAR AGO AROUND AUGUST 2016, I MADE A VIDEO ABOUT HOW TO PUT MINECRAFT WORLDS INTO ROBLOX. I HAVE SINCE DELETED THAT VIDEO BECAUSE I DON'T REALLY LIKE ROBLOX ANYMORE. SO HERE I WILL EXPLAIN HOW TO DO THE OPPOSITE AND PUT ROBLOX WORLDS INTO MINECRAFT. THIS WILL ONLY WORK FOR ROBLOX PLACES YOU HAVE ACCESS TO, SUCH AS PLACES YOU OWN OR UNCOPYLOCKED PLACES.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

ALSO SOME THINGS TO CONSIDER:

NOW LET'S GET STARTED.

STEP 1: OPEN YOUR ROBLOX PLACE IN ROBLOX STUDIO

SCREENSHOT

STEP 2: DELETE ANY OBJECT THAT MITE BE TOO TINY.

REMEMBER THAT MINECRAFT USES BLOCKS SO THE TINY STUFF WONT WORK. ALSO DELETE ANY TRANSPARENT PARTS IN THE PLACE

STEP 3: SELECT THE OBJECT(S) THAT YOU WANNA IMPORT INTO MINECRAFT.

MAKE SURE THAT IF YOU HAVE A MESH YOU EXPLICITLY SELECT IT IN THE EXPLORER. EVEN IF THE MESH IS IN A GROUP THAT YOU'VE ALREADY SELECTED. ALSO YOU MIGHT HAVE TO RIGHT CLICK THE MESHPART IN THE EXPLORER BEFORE DOING THE NEXT STEP.

STEP 4: RIGHT CLICK AND CLICK "EXPORT SELECTION".

STEP 5: CHOOSE WHERE TO SAVE IT.

STEP 6: CHECK THE MODEL IN A VIEWER TO MAKE SURE IT GOT EVERYTHING.

MODEL VIEWER

THE COLOUR DOESN'T MATTER AT THE MOMENT SO IGNORE IT IF IT LOOKS WEIRD.

STEP 7: NOW TO PREPARE FOR THE FUTURE STEPS.

CREATE A MINECRAFT VOID WORLD. THEN GO ON IT AND LET THE CHUNKS LOAD. THEN CLOSE MINECRAFT.

STEP 8: OPEN OBJ2MC AND CLICK THE "…" IN THE CORNER

STEP 9: OPEN THE .OBJ FILE YOU SAVED EARLIER.

MAKE SURE YOU SELECT OBJ IN THE FILE TYPES SO YOU SEE IT.

STEP 10: CHECK THE SETTINGS.

MAKE SURE THEY MATCH THIS IMAGE:

NOW HERE'S WHERE THINGS GET COMPLICATED. YOU WILL HAVE TO EXPERIMENT WITH THE "HIGH RESOLUTION" BUT HERE'S A WAY TO ESTIMATE WHAT YOU'LL PUT THERE. GO BACK TO ROBLOX STUDIO AND GET A GOOD SIDE-VIEW OF YOUR PLACE. ONE WAY TO APPROXIMATE IT IS TO USE THIS LITTLE IMAGE GUIDE:

YOU ONLY REALLY NEED TO USE THIS GUIDE IF THE PLACE IS HUGE. THE POINT IS TO MAKE IT NOT TO SMALL BUT NOT TO BIG EITHER SO IT DOESN'T GET CHOPPED OFF MY THE MINECRAFT HEIGHT LIMIT. HOWEVER IF YOUR ROBLOX PLACE IS SMALL, USING THIS GUIDE WILL MAKE EVERYTHING BIG. SO JUST EXPERIMENT WITH THE NUMBERS UNTIL YOU THINK IT'S JUST RIGHT. I GET THAT THIS MIGHT BE CONFUSING. I'M JUST REALLY SMART SO I GET IT, BUT I DID TRY TO MAKE IT AS EASY TO UNDERSTAND AS POSSIBLE. ALSO BECAUSE THIS IS MY FIRST TIME DOING IT (FOR THIS PLACE) AS I WRITE THIS I WILL SHARE MY MISTAKES.

STEP 11: AFTER YOU'VE DONE ALL THAT,

TYPE IN THE NEW VALUE AND CLICK THE CONVERT BUTTON. THEN WAIT FOR THE PROGRAM TO READ THE LINES AND THEN SAY:

STEP 12: OPEN MCEDIT

AND LOAD YOUR EMPTY MINECRAFT WORLD YOU CREATED IN STEP 7.

PART 13: CLICK "IMPORT" IN THE TOOLBAR AND LOOK FOR THE FILE.

IT WILL BE IN THE SAME PLACE AS THE OBJ FILE YOU EXPORTED.

DUE TO THE SCHEMATIC BEING HUGE, IT MAY TAKE A WHILE TO RENDER IN THE PREVIEW. AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THIS PARTIALLY RENDERED VIEW THE SCHEMATIC IS SIDEWAYS, INVERTED, AND THE BOTTOM OF THE WORLD IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SCHEMATIC (AFTER ROTATED). SO CLICK "ROLL" 1 TIME AND CLICK "MIRROR" 1 TIME AND THEN LINE UP THE BOTTOM OF THE SCHEMATIC WITH THE BOTTOM OF THE MINECRAFT WORLD. LIKE THIS IMAGE SHOWS:

STEP 14: THEN CLICK "IMPORT" AND LOOK IT OVER.

AS YOU CAN SEE MY ESTIMATION WORKED GREAT! HERE ARE SOME COMPARISONS:

NOW I'M ABOUT TO SHOW YOU WHAT I'M MOST IMPRESSED WITH. LOOK AT THIS HOUSE. THE CORRIDOR IS 2 BLOCKS HIGH. JUST HIGH ENOUGH FOR A PLAYER TO WALK IN. SO THIS MEANS THAT IF YOU HAVE A ROBLOX PLACE THAT USES THE DEFAULT BASEPLATE AND IS NOT TALLER THAN THE FOX MODEL THAT I USED, 768 IS A GOOD SIZE FOR A 1 BY 1 SCALE CONVERSION PROCESS.

HERE IS THE INSIDE:

PART 15: COLOUR YOUR WORLD.

AS YOU CAN SEE, IT'S ALL JUST STONE. THAT'S WHERE THE COLOURING PART COMES IN. I'M GONNA SHOW YOU 2 WAYS TO COLOUR YOUR WORLD. METHOD 1: AS YOU CAN SEE THAT HOUSE IS MADE WITH DARK WOOD PLANKS SO I WANNA MINECRAFT MATCH. I CLICK FILL AND REPLACE. THEN SELECT STONE THEN CLICK "REPLACE" THEN SELECT THE MATERIAL YOU WANT TO USE THEN CLICK THE YELLOW "REPLACE" BUTTON, AND YOU'RE DONE. REPEAT FOR EACH THING.

METHOD 2: I NEED TO COLOUR THE FOX TO MATCH THE ROBLOX IMAGE. THIS IS WHAT I'LL DO. FIRST I WILL COLOUR THE WHOLE MODEL WITH METHOD 1 SO AS TO MAKE IT LESS MESSY.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THAT. METHOD 2 BEGINS HERE, CLICK ON THE BRUSH TOOL. THEN CHANGE THE MODE TO REPLACE MAKE SURE THE FIRST ONE IS STONE (OR WHATEVER BLOCK COLOUR) AND THE SECOND ONE IS THE BLOCK YOU WANT. THEN CLICK AND DRAG THE BRUSH ON THE BRUSH ON THE PARTS YOU WANNA COLOUR.

THIS IS WHAT YOU MIGHT GET. AFTER YOU'VE COLOURED EVERYTHING MOVE TO THE NEXT STEP.

STEP 16: EXTRA ADJUSTMENTS.

THIS STEP IS OPTIONAL BUT RECOMMENDED. IT'S THE FINE ADJUSTMENTS TO THE WORLD. I'M GONNA GIVE YOU A FEW EXAMPLES.

ALL THE BIG BLOCK AND MESHES WILL BE HOLLOW SO YOU CAN FILL THEM USING THE FLOOD FILL TOOL.

THE REST OF THESE WILL BE DONE IN MINECRAFT.

ADD TORCHES. THIS DOESN'T NEED A PICTURE.

THIS IS A BED SO I'LL MAKE IT A MINECRAFT BED. I ALSO MADE THE COUNTER SMALLER TO MATCH THE ROBLOX PICTURE.

YOU CAN MAKE THE SPAWN POINT WITH SLABS.

AND THAT'S IT!

NOW YOU CAN ENJOY YOUR CREATIONS WITHOUT ROBLOX'S STUPID CENSORSHIP.
